Role of Citizen`s in Democracy

 Mr. Qazi Aijaz Programe coordinator of the program welcome the participants and Introduce the Liberal perspective on the Topic of the Seminar. The speaker were requested to present their views on the topics.

 Dr. Zulifqar Ali Rahujo ,General secretary of the LFP Center spoke that Role of citizens canot be denied how to be part of the democratic struggle.He said that illiteracy ,political Parities negligence, feudal and tribal structure and military role in pakistan are the factors who contribute the less interests of citizens to participate.He probed that Citizens are not only voters but also those, who can investigate elected parliamentars whether they are doing the well-being of public or not .

Jalil Korar,i Leader of Communist party of Sindh spoke that oppressed citizen’s need true democracy and they must struggle for that cause. He said that citizens role is very important and Labour and peasants must unite to fight for democracy.

M. Parkash, President of the LFP Sindh gave his presentation That citizens must account the elected people for 5 years. He said that liberal citizens must realize their role how to participate . Mr Parkash said that pakistan is still run by Militry rulers so institutes of citizens has not flourished.

Farther Francis Anwar, member of Justice and peace Commission and Father of the Catholic Church larkana spoke that citizens must raise their voice for Human rights and minorities violence particularly in Pakistan,. He said that minorities are deprived not to participate in democratic movement.

Mr, Yakooob Dhahani , Advocate and Leader of Peoples lawyer’s Forum Larkana said that Lawers, civil society, journalists, writers , women and liberal youth and media personnel’s are key persons to flourish the democracy in pakistan

Honorary Guest Azizizulllah Bohio , president of the Sindh Sagar party said that pakistan is agent of imperalism and citizens of pakistan are deprived their total rights. He said that pakistan government has bad relation with neighbors.

Advocate Hadi Bux Butt and center leader of Awami Tahreek said that voters in pakistan are treated to be slave and political parties are violating the vote rights. He criticized that Mushraf government is perpetuating the terrorists in cities ands feudal lords in villages to enhance its so called enlightens

The chief Guest reknown intellectual and Central Leader of the Sindh United party, Sayed Maher Hussain Shah Said that Democracy has its roots in history and citizens has scarified for that. But still thee citizens has to sacrify for nursing the democracy. He said that Sindh is deprived of basic citizens rights and have huge health and unemployment problems.

The president of the Seminar , intellectual ,Asif Khan said that feudals in pakistan, in their trends are against democracy and big parties are still controlled by landlords . He said Quid Aazam was democrat and then after political leaderships were not democratic. The Country is mainly ruled by Militry allies. He said that India has democratic struggle background and they took agriculture very earlier and feudalism was destroyed. He said agriculture reform will strengthen democracyAnd political parties should encourage the middle class citizens rather to collect the big amount in term of contesting election fee from Lards/feudals. He said that citizens are deprived from enrollment in voter list and millions have no identy cards.Mr Asif Khan appreciated the LFP larkana in initiating Such seminars.Other speakers Include Pro; Zahida Pathan, Khalid Chandio , S. Talib shah In Last Mr. Abbass Haider thanked all the participants were served refreshments .
